E-mail: M.Pelusi@physics.usyd.edu.au
Bio:
Mark graduated with a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from
the University of Melbourne in 1997 for his research in high speed
optical signal generation from semiconductor lasers and soliton
compression in optical fibres. Through to 2001 he was a Research
Fellow at the Femtosecond Technology Research Association (FESTA)
in Japan, where he investigated ultra-short optical pulse technologies
for high-speed optical communications, including high quality pulse
generation using soliton compression in optical fibres, short pulse
amplification, all-optical switching in fibre devices, higher-order
dispersion compensation and optical short pulse measurement and
characterization. Following FESTA, he was a Senior Hardware Engineer
at Corvis Corp. in Maryland, U.S.A. where he developed a prototype
electro-optic transmitter/receiver for long-haul DWDM optical communications.
