Bio:
Neil commenced his PhD with CUDOS at the University of Sydney
in 2005 to study nonlinear effects in chalcogenide-based Bragg grating
devices, including optical regeneration, pulse compression and slow
light. He graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada
with a degree in Engineering Physics and Management in 2002 following
a 13 month industrial internship with JDS Uniphase in Sydney, Australia
developing Bragg grating fabrication systems. From mid 2002 to 2005
Neil was employed by MDA Space Missions in Toronto, Canada developing
vision systems for the International Space Station and LIDAR systems
for satellite and planetary exploration vehicles.
