Intermediate Physics (Physics 2)
Physics has much to offer beyond first year. The School of Physics offers seven distinct units of Intermediate Physics. These include a 'core' six credit point unit at either the Normal or Advanced level in each semester, one optional (but strongly recommended) six credit point unit in second semester, plus a unit for Electrical Engineers also offered in second semester.

The is Associate Professor Manju Sharma. For general enquiries, contact the (Physics Room 202) by email student_support@physics.usyd.edu.au or phone 9351 3037.
See How to choose your options for guidance on selecting units.

Material related to each Unit of Study is available to enrolled students through eLearning/WebCT. Access requires a Unikey (Extro account) Username and Password that is issued with your confirmation of enrolment. A brief introduction is available to help you (in PDF format).
Help with Physics – Duty Tutoring
Ian Cooper is available to help you with problems with course material from PHYS2012 Physics 2B and PHYS2912 Physics 2B (Adv). He is available from week 3 of semester, on Tuesdays from 1pm to 2pm in the Computational Physics Lab 359 (Level 1, western end of Physics Building).
Intermediate students can bring along questions from class and also catch up with Computational Physics lab work.
Special Consideration
If your academic performance in a Science Faculty unit of study is adversely affected by events or circumstances, you should complete an Application for Special Consideration or an Application for Special Arrangements, with accompanying documentation. These two forms of Consideration should cover most allowable circumstances, however in circumstances outside the usual guidelines, an Application for Consideration of Special Circumstances by Physics may be appropriate.
You should not submit an application of any type if
* there is no assessment associated with a missed class, or
* you have a reasonable opportunity to make up any work you missed.
See Consideration of factors affecting your study for further details.
