Undergraduate Prizes
The School of Physics annually awards over $70,000 in scholarships and prizes to students in Junior, Intermediate and Senior Physics. These scholarships and prizes are eagerly sought by our students and provide a real incentive to continue with the study of Physics.

| Geoffrey Builder - AWA Prize | Intermediate Physics | Awarded annually to a student for proficiency in practical work. | $250 |
| W.I.B. Smith Prize | Senior Physics | The prize may be awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Physics to the student who best combines the characteristics of experimental skill, proficiency and exceptional motivation in the Senior laboratory classes, provided the student's work is of sufficient merit. | $500 |
| Henry Chamberlain Russell Prize for Astronomy | Physics Honours | Awarded for the best Honours thesis on an astronomical subject. | Up to $1400 |
| Shiroki Prize | Physics Honours | Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Physics to the student who submits the best Honours project in the Honours year provided the candidate's work is of sufficient merit. | $750 |
| Ormsby Hamilton Radio Prize | An undergraduate or a graduate of not more than 4 years | The prize is to be awarded for work submitted in the even years for a dissertation (such as an essay, research report or thesis) in the field of Radio science. | Up to $600 |
| Australian Institute of Physics (N.S.W. Branch) Prize in Physics | Physics Honours | Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Physics, to the student graduating with the degree of Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physics who shows greatest proficiency provided that the student's work is of sufficient merit. | $400 |
