The Messel Endowment | Donation
Honour Board
"I urge you to please dig deep
to ensure that my vision of over 40 years ago continues into the future"
Professor Harry Messel, founder of the International Science Schools
The Foundation's most ambitious fundraising
campaign is the Messel Endowment, which aims to fund the Professor
Harry Messel International Science Schools (ISS) in perpetuity. The
ISS are run at no cost to students, ensuring that this unique
opportunity is available to all students based on their intellectual
ability and not their ability to pay.
The goal of the Professor Harry Messel International Science School is to honour excellence and encourage outstanding Year 11 and 12 students to pursue careers in science, technology and engineering. To date $3million has been raised for the Messel Endowment. Our target now is to raise $4.5million in total funds ensuring the continuation of this unique Australian science program. To learn more about the ISS please click here to read the Messel Endowment campaign booklet (750k PDF).
As an additional means of supporting the International Science School, Emeritus Professor Dick Collins, who was Head of
the School of Physics and Director of the Science Foundation for Physics from 1997 to 2000, completed his book
Lots of Scars from which the profits of sales will go directly to the Messel Endowment.
