• Rank submissions for internal grant schemes (travel, Denison)
• Rank school submissions to university grant schemes (e.g. Sesqui, Major Equipment)
• Provide advice and support for external grant scheme applicants
• Provide advice to the Head of School on Research Matters

The chair is also a member of the Faculty of Science Research Committee.
The Research Committee membership should cover the principal research areas within the School.
