Kickstart Physics on the Road

The popular University of Sydney Kickstart HSC Physics workshops will hit the road again in 2010 taking their interactive experiments and dynamic demonstrators to Wagga Wagga, Dubbo and Armidale.

Modules

 

Kickstart workshops specifically address dot points from the syllabus.

From Ideas to Implementations: 5 modules.

Motors and Generators: 5 modules.

And also: The Michelson Morley Experiment and the Wilson Cloud Chamber

There are 45 minute lectures on Relativity each lunchtime. Full details of the modules in each workshop are on the Kickstart Home Page.

Teacher workshops

 

Informal teacher workshops will be held, where teachers can ask the tricky questions from the syllabus of each other and our experienced Kickstart demonstrators.

Costs

 

Kickstart on the Road prices for 2010:

Workshops: $15 per student

Lectures: $5 per student

A standard day incorporates a morning and an afternoon workshop, with a lunchtime lecture, amounting to $35 per student. In the case of students for whom cost is an issue, the School of Physics is offering a limited number of scholarships to attend for free. Please contact us if you have students you feel should be considered for a scholarship.

There is no charge for teachers, and no minimum class size. Booking details are below.

Once you book in for your session a tax invoice will be sent to you. You can pay by cheque, Visa, or Mastercard. No GST is charged for this program. Unfortunately cash is not accepted.

  • Number of students.
  • The sessions you would like to attend.
