Surveys

The Pan-Andromeda Archaeological Survey (PAndAS), mapping the faint distribution of stars about our nearest cosmic neighbours, the Andromeda and Triangulum galaxies. Using the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope, one of the most sensitive in the work, this survey is revealing a wealth of streams and substructure, the debris of cannibalised dwarfs whose stars will be added to the big galaxies.
