### OBSDATE ### 20110723 ### LOGDATE ### 110724 ### OBSERVERS ### MJI, BAW, JGR, AN ### WEATHER ### Clear, humidity high by just after midnight. ### LOCATION ### SUSI ### PROGRAM ### Find issues with low V^2 fringes, by: 1) Recording starlight fringes with the power off to the cart. 2) Recording starlight fringes with tip/tilt off. 3) Carefully focus SUSI. ### SIDEROSTATS ### n1 n3 s1 ### TARGETS ### alpha Pav Delta Sco ### QUALITY ### Quite bad (no/almost no useful data ### PROBLEMS ### N1 has the azimuth absolute encoder bumped. N4 seems to be non-functional (but was fine this morning) Earlier in the day, the North beam on a 78mm pupil looked diffraction-limited in double-pass. But on the full beam, the North beam still didn't look great in the tip/tilt box. Certainly, part of this issue is the delay cart paraboloid. Something to spend money on if everything else (especially sids) start working. The V^2C/V^2 ratio was still never more than 0.2 whenever the cart was tracking (the only time it could be clearly seen). This still points to vibrations somewhere between the autocol flats and the siderostats... which just makes no sense. Essentially everything seems to be eliminated other than seeing itself. MJI suggests that we need more data on clear nights, to fully sample seeing conditions.
