### OBSDATE ### 20120309 ### LOGDATE ### 120310 ### OBSERVERS ### YK, BAW ### WEATHER ### Clear, RH 80% to >90% towards the end of night. ### LOCATION ### SUSI ### PROGRAM ### Test drive the new fringecon and collect data for MUSCA+PAVO phase-referencing experiment. ### SIDEROSTATS ### n1 s2 ### TARGETS ### HR 4853 ### QUALITY ### Average ### PROBLEMS ### A general and the MUSCA alignment were carried. A loose cable on the cable cart was the way of the North beam. This cause some confusion during the two alignment process. The metrology laser was unstable and its heater current went out of range several times during the night. We spent a lot of time waiting for the laser to reset and stabilize. The loose cable also caused the cable to fail 'cab_reset' several times as it is preventing the optics cart from hitting the reset switch. We found fringes at ~200um. When we first found it, no data was saved as the star was lost shortly after due to 'dangerously high flux' warning from PAVO. We then had computer network problems which BAW fixed quickly after. The 2nd time we got fringes on both beam combiners we recorded several minutes of data. But before PAVO could do its shutter sequence to complete the observation the disk space on argus ran out. BAW then quickly move some data away so that we could continue recording more fringes. All went well during the 3rd round. Fringes found at ~20um. Humidity went up to ~97% but after personally checking the roofs and siderostat BAW assured that there were no condensation on the mirror. Despite that we ended our night shortly after.
