### OBSDATE ### 20120320 ### LOGDATE ### 120320 ### OBSERVERS ### MJI ### WEATHER ### Clear-ish at the start (10pm). Then cloudy (10:45pm). Called it quits at 11:20pm, as the satellite showed clouds heading in Narrabri's direction. Easterly wind at 10 km/hr (i.e. from Kaputar) ### LOCATION ### SUSI ### PROGRAM ### gamma Cru diameter ### SIDEROSTATS ### n1 s2 ### TARGETS ### HR 3685... acquired on one beam only. ### QUALITY ### Quite bad (no/almost no useful data ### PROBLEMS ### 1) N1 North periscope was indicated to be in the IN position. I hacked the code so the warning message about "both periscopes in" doesn't prevent tracking. 2) Accidentally typed "poff" when trying to think of the "setoff" command for the horrible N1 pointing. "poff" powers down the siderostat, and should probably be removed for the new controllers! 3) Some difficulty acquiring N1. bet Car was in the field at 300 -80 for an offset, but the star would fly out rather than in during acqlabjack acquisition. I hacked the ADJ_RATES message in the sidcon server. This *would* have worked, if not for the periscope error magically fixing itself. Clearly, a better sotware hack is needed, i.e. to tell the server that the periscope is really in or out. This would be a useful feature (i.e. normal functionality unless a special command is typed in)
