SE Wind at 5 km/hr ### LOCATION ### Home ### PROGRAM ### Get Aaron data on Tau Sco. MJI at home also watching TV etc. ### SIDEROSTATS ### n3 s3 ### TARGETS ### pi Sco (HR 5944) - aligned (not focus yet) and checked dispersion. Approx 60 mins to start up and complete this first step [some old software on my laptop] HR 6125 - no fringes at all. Because this was a mis-typed HR number for tau Sco. I feel silly not realising this straight away given how faint it was in tip/tilt (m_B=6.4). tau Sco (HR 6165) pi Sco (HR 5944) tau Sco (HR 6165) mu02 Sco (HR 6252) - Fringes pretty average tau Sco (HR 6165) pi Sco (HR 5944) tau Sco (HR 6165) mu02 Sco (HR 6252) tau Sco (HR 6165) pi Sco (HR 5944) tau Sco (HR 6165) mu02 Sco (HR 6252) tau Sco (HR 6165) pi Sco (HR 5944) tau Sco (HR 6165) mu01 Sco (HR 6252) tau Sco (HR 6165) - Fringes remaining superb (Rat about 0.5) despite an airmass of about 1.5 ### QUALITY ### Very good (several calibrated points) ### PROBLEMS ### Taskmaster still needs to be run in the foreground during starting of the astromod. aoffset seemed to set itself to 0.0 rather than -1.0. On the first trial of tau Sco, the star wasn't in the field of view, so I went to pi Sco again to sanity check the system. The cart seemed to take a while to track, and there were no fringes (after perfect fringes the first time) so I checked the zero position for the cart. No problem (5 microns out). Eventually I found the LDC in a limit - "Escape from limits" and no re-homing was all that was required. Getting taskmaster to check this now on the TODO. Found fringes to be unreliable on pi Sco, with a typical "Rat" number around 0.3 during fringe lock. Probably took 6 minutes to acquire 100s of data. One cab_reset needed (shows need for data logging/analysis on opcon). The "slewing failed - giving up" message seemed to happen to one of the two siderostats more than 50% of the time. n3 siderostat crashed. Restarted pppd and power cycled the sid. In retrospect... maybe just pppd went down (restart_sid n3 would hav fixed it). Had a second problem with the LDC at the S Lim later on (with HR 6252) About 3 cab_resets, i.e. about 1 per hour. Zeroset at 17 microns at end of night.
