### OBSDATE ### 20131214 ### LOGDATE ### 131215 ### OBSERVERS ### MJI ### WEATHER ### Light winds (6 km/hr on ATCA), apparently clear skies, ~70% humidit ### LOCATION ### SUSI ### PROGRAM ### Resolving Nova Cen 2013 Based on Yitping's analysis of last night, a 3.7 mas diameter is expected. Based on expecting it to be similar to Nova Del, more like a 1.3 mas diameter is expected The 60m baseline has a fringe spacing of 2.8 mas, so is ideal for distinguishing between these. ### SIDEROSTATS ### n4 s2 ### TARGETS ### HR 3685 (no fringes on n4 s2... likely a too narrow search range) HR 5132 HR 9110 (peak V^2 about 0.06... except for a brief 0.12 flash) HR 5463 ### QUALITY ### Average ### PROBLEMS ### N4 offsets: -85 -40 S2 offsets: -12 -6 No fringes on a -1500 to +1500 pass. On 130705, fringes were at found at -950, which makes me think that this is a good range. On 130116, they were found at -440um. A fake lock around -450 and around -1000. Beta Car at 1.5 milli-arcsec should have been fine... Tried on HR 5132 from -1500 to 500, then from -500 to -2500 Fringes eventually found at +650, with tg giving an aoffset of -6m of air, giving a fringe location of -100 when all was done. *** the first ~30s of fringe lock on 5132 should be removed *** On HR 9110 (Nova), searched from -300 to +300 then +400 to -500. This should have been more than enough. One more try and found them at -40. alpha Cir (HR 5463) fringes really quite poor and intermittent - also jumping. Didn't get a proper shutter sequence...
