Equipment needed :

• screen with an black `L' painted on it (any character will do)
• lamp
• CCD camera

• Position the lamp on the `L' side of the screen.
• Position the CCD camera on the other side of the screen.

Physics involved :

Demonstrates blackbody absorption.

When white light shines on the screen the L absorbs more energy because it is black. This will show as an imprint on the other side of the screen.
