Research Interests of Neil Cramer

Theoretical studies of Alfven wave heating in laboratory plasmas, such as Tokamak plasmas.

Astrophysical plasma problems, such as heating of the solar corona by Alfven waves and X-ray emission from strongly magnetized neutron star plasmas.

The use of analytic and particle simulation methods to model low temperature plasma discharges of interest in plasma processing.

Waves in dusty space and astrophysical plasmas, such as the surroundings of comets and interstellar molecular clouds.

The theory of the behaviour of charged dust in discharge plasmas, the formation of dust-plasma crystals, and the propagation of waves and lattice vibrations in the crystals.
