Research Interests of Don Melrose

Plasma processes in astrophysics and geophysics with emphasis on
1. the emission, absorption and transfer of radiation in magnetoactive plasma
2. particular applications to emissions from the solar corona, planetary magnetospheres and pulsars
3. the scattering and acceleration of fast particles
4. the theory of solar flares.
Quantum electrodynamics, including the effects of superstrong magnetic fields.
Nonlinear plasma processes.
