SUBJECT: 2010 San Diego SPIE Meeting Call for Papers


The 2010 SPIE Astronomical Telescopes and Instrumentation Call for  
Papers is now online at http://spie.org/astronomical- 
instrumentation.xml.

The meeting will be held in San Diego from 27 June through 2 July in  
San Diego, California. The theme this year is "Observational Frontiers  
of Astronomy for the New Decade". The following areas will be covered  
at the meeting.

Telescopes and Systems
• Ground-based and Airborne Telescopes
• Ground-based and Airborne Instrumentation
• Optical and IR Interferometry
• Adaptive Optics Systems
• Observatory Operations
• Systems Engineering

Technology Advancements
• Systems Engineering
• Modern Technologies
• Advanced Software and Control
• Detectors

Abstracts are due no later than 14 December 2009. A 250 word abstract  
should be submitted for review purposes and a 100 word abstract is  
requested for pre-publication.

As has always been the policy of the SPIE, papers are due in advance  
of the meeting. Papers for this meeting are due before 31 May 2010.

I urge all of you with applicable research to seriously consider  
submitting a paper and attending the meeting.
