NCA meeting summary
The National Committee for Astronomy held its second meeting of
2007 on 26 November at the Australian Academy of Sciences in Canberra.
A summary of the news and outcomes from the meeting is available on
the NCA web pages (see http://www.aao.gov.au/nca/currentissues.html)
. Topics of
discussion included the re-organisation of astronomy advisory
committees, the status of preparations for the International Year of
Astronomy in 2009, and the coordination of LIEF astronomy bids in
2008. The next NCA meeting (held jointly with astronomy Heads of
Departments) will take place during the ASA science meeting in July at
the University of Western Australia.
