DATE: Wed, 23 Sep 2009 15:28:54 +1000 SUBJECT: 6th Oct at AAO: MANIFEST Science Day The AAO invites you to attend the MANIFEST Science Day Tuesday 6 Oct 2009 AAO Conference Room Lunch will be catered. There will be wine and cheese to accompany the discussion session at the end of the program. There is no registration fee. The Anglo-Australian Observatory is holding a one-day workshop to present the MANIFEST "MANy Instrument FibrE SysTem" concept for the GMT. MANIFEST is a versatile fibre feed for other GMT instruments, and enhances many of the scientific drivers for these by providing an improved survey speed and offering new modes of operation. MANIFEST also allows new areas of scientific investigation that would not otherwise be possible. The goals of the day include a summary of the developments to date in the MANIFEST concept, and a thorough exploration of the variety of science that MANIFEST will support, enhance, and open up. The AAO invites you to join us for the MANIFEST Science Day, and participate in the discussions to ensure that your favourite scientific questions are not overlooked. Please RSVP to Andrew Hopkins (ahopkins@aao.gov.au) by tuesday 29/09/09 so we can have accurate numbers for catering purposes.
