The Astrophysics Group in the School of Physics at the University of  
Melbourne invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in  
extragalactic astronomy with particular emphasis on observational  
cosmology.  This position based in Melbourne and work with Prof Jeremy  
Mould.

In this position you will undertake internationally competitive  
research leading to journal publications, and specifically to the  
defined goals of the funded research project.  You will also  
contribute to international conferences in the appropriate fields. As  
the School of Physics has a large number of high-quality PhD and MSc  
students you will take an active and enthusiastic role in supervising  
research students and providing experimental and theoretical guidance.

As the successful candidate you will have a PhD or equivalent in  
Astrophysics or a related area,  have a demonstrated aptitude for  
research with a sound record of publication, commensurate with  
experience and opportunities and a demonstrated ability to work both  
independently and in collaboration with others.
