Endless Babble
Can I help you at all? Here are various random ramblings somehow
vaguely connected to the comic book medium.
Den Skjulte Strid
The Danish edition of Spiderman featured the greatest story ever
told by Marvel: The battle of the main heroes in "the beyond" (den
skjulte strid in Danish).
It all started at the end of Magazine 25 where Spiderman (edderkoppen)
finds a strange space ship and is suddenly teleported to the beyond.
In Magazine 26 he returns but we do not get the story!
It is not until Magazine 36 (nearly a year
after in real time) that we get an explanation of what happened while
Spidey and the other super heroes (Fantastic Four, X-Men, Hulk etc.)
were gone. This story spans Magazines 36-49.
The creature Venom (splatter
in Danish) is the creature that
lives on after Spidey finally loses the black suit in the Danish
"Edderkoppen" Magazine #79.
Spiderman's Black Suit
On the planet where 'den skjulte strid' is going on the allies (captain
America, captain Marvel, Spiderman, Hulk, Thor etc.) there is a base
with a lot of technical lab equipment. Reed Richards (leader of the
Fantastic 4) uses one of the machines to ressurrect some of the fallen
heroes.
At one point Spiderman sees Thor going out of a room where one of the
machines has made a new suit for him. Spiderman goes into to room and
uses another machine which makes the black suit for him. One may
speculate that this is because Spidey has seen the Spider Woman in a
black suit and has since secretly wanted the same. The explanation of
the black suit takes only up only one page. Even so, Spiderman wears
the suit for the next 50 albums from 25 until 79. This is one of the
great and very strange facts about Spiderman. The suit lives on from
album 80 and possesses a journalist (Eddie Brok) which is known as
Venom (splatter). The psychotic villain, Carnage, is formed out of the
black suit at a later stage. |
