Studying
in Aarhus: 1992 - 2004 After a rather turbulent sommer after finishing high school in 1992, I moved to Aarhus to begin my studies at the University. My two subjects were physics and chemistry and later I specialized in astronomy. In 1993 I moved to the Skjoldhojkollegiet opgang 126 where I thrived really well. In 1994 Malene, Soren Mikkelsen and Oana Mateescu formed the secret league of MOSH. At the same place, but many years later - in 2002 - another (hardly secret) society of the Brixx Brothers gathered for first time. For many years (1994-2004) I was the "keeper of the arcane lore" in the roleplaying game Call of Cthulhu. We played three of Chaosium's huge campaigns called the Horror on the Orient Express, Masks of Nyarlathotep and At the Mountains of Madness. This led to immense sanity drops for the private investigators Soren Dideriksen, Uffe Jochumsen, Mads Anton Madsen, Lars Andersen, Thomas Arp, Lasse Skjalm, Jakob Clausen, and (later) Thomas Wernberg. I spent a lot of time with Soren Dideriksen at his 6m2 apartment in Tordenskjoldgade listening to Pet Shop Boys and studying to pass the physics exams in year three. Later, when Soren moved in with Anton in Christen Kobkesgade we started to regularly cook pork roasts and drinking the black gold label and elephant beer. At that time - in 1996 - Malene and Hans moved to the city centre of Aarhus at Mindegadekollegiet. Many crazy so-called "tornado parties" were held in Mindegade. I became friends with Jens N. Nielsen and we spent many bizarre nights discussing avantgarde literature and obscure music at his place at Borglumkollegiet. I also became friends with Jens' room mate Paw Stryhn and in turn I met Ole G. Jorgensen and Thomas Wernberg. Following a lively wedding in 1999 I became part of the unfounded Fokker Society. Malene finished her education in 2002 and had to move to Thisted to complete her medical training. I moved in with Thomas Wernberg in Sjaellandsgade at that time. In 2003 Malene came back to Aarhus and we be moved to Lundbyesgade. In 2003 I started playing Ultimate Frisbee and took up spinning classes after vehement encouragement from Bo Jorgensen. I played Ultimate for three seasons but got problems with my knees and back in 2006. After some months during 2004 in Colorado we we relocated to Copenhagen in early 2005. |
