Growing up in Fredericia:
1973 - 1992 I was born at Fredericia Sygehus in august 1973 after a cesarean section. I grew up in the suburbs of Fredericia and spent a lot of time in the nearby "Virgin Forest" with my friends. In 1984 my brother Jens bought the roleplaying game Dungeons and Dragons and with Karen Lassen, Soren Vester Rasmussen, Michael Munk, Torben Kyndbol and a few others we started playing classic hack and slash adventures in the world of Gary Gygax. Later, in 1985, Jens formed the roleplaying association Silmarilion (yes, with only two l's) with Per & Ole W. Nielsen, Dan Wullf and others. I spent many afternoons with Uffe Jochumsen playing Kick Start and IK+ while munching "bastogne kiks" and drinking coke. I remember that from 1986-89 I had to rush home from school every Monday to record Kim Schumacher's radio program on tape. I even have some of those tapes today. My parents were divorced in 1989 and I went to live with my father. I started highschool in 1989 and I spent a lot of time with Thomas Sorensen (playing computer games) and Henrik Jakobsen (CONS = constructor of the new style!) machine programming the Amiga. I also hung out with Lasse Skjalm and Torben Frederiksen: we were probably the only ones in Fredericia who knew about hip-hop legends Above the Law. In Silmarilon I also met Bo Jorgensen. In the basement of Anton's house we played AD&A almost every Friday with Uffe Jochumsen, Thomas Gondermann, Claus T. Olesen, Lars, Thomas Sorensen, Simon Kracht and a few others. In 1992 I left Fredericia to begin my university studies. |
