About me

I am an Australian Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of IT and the School of Physics at the University of Sydney. I am working on several astronomy projects including the ATCA 20 GHz survey and the Molonglo Galactic Plane Survey. I am also working on Natural Language Processing for scientific text.

In first semester I teach INFO1903, a first year introduction to IT for advanced science/computer science students.

Before this I was a postdoc at the ATNF working on a data reduction pipeline for the Australia Telescope Compact Array. You can find out about this, and other Virtual Observatory work here.

In 2003 I completed my PhD on "Spectral Properties of Stars and Stellar Populations" at the Royal Observatory Edinburgh.

Because I have absolutely no talent for website design, this website was stolen from, borrowed from, inspired by Dark Zen from the CSS Zen Garden.
