Nonlinear Ion-Acoustic Waves in a Collisional Plasma

Abstract
It is shown that finite-amplitude ion-acoustic waves in a collision-dominated
plasma are described by a Korteveg-de Vries-Burger equation, which has the
same form, but with very different scaling and parameter dependence from that
describing ion acoustic waves in a weakly collisional plasma.
