Attenuation of the Surface Wave Fields into a Degenerate Plasma:
Another Kohn Anomaly
Physica Scripta, Vol. 49, No. 5, Pp. 625-626 (1994)
Abstract
It is demonstrated that due to the Kohn singularity the attenuation
of surface waves into the bulk of a semi-infinite degenerate plasma
can follow a power-law (no exponential decrease, as in a "classical" plasma).
This effect is analogous to the power-law decrease of the field
of a test charge in a degenerate plasma.
