Dear colleagues,

This is the second announcement for the ninth iteration of Science at Low Frequencies (SALF IX), which will be a hybrid conference held from the 11th to the 15th of December, 2023. The in-person component will be hosted at Amsterdam Science Park, The Netherlands. Amsterdam Science Park is easily accessible via public transport from Schiphol international airport and is only a 10-minute train ride (or 20-minute bike ride) from the centre of the city.

Importantly, note that the abstract deadline is the 18th of August (slight change from the first announcement). We will be reserving ~10% of talk slots for late-breaking results.

We have already had over 70 people register for in-person attendance, and we are limited to 150 participants. So please register asap to guarantee a spot. If you know you are going, we also encourage you too book accommodation soon as well. More details and advice for accommodation are available on the SALF website.

For Phd students, the LOC has made a block reservation of 20 rooms at the Manor hotel Amsterdam<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/6lX0CYW8NocDP74JzI0z-fg?domain=themanorhotelamsterdam.com>. This hotel is located 3.5 kilometres from the meeting venue. Note: this block reservation is intended solely for PhD students not living in the Netherlands. Rooms can be shared, if desired. If you wish to make use of this block reservation: before 1 October, please send an email to ao-secretariat at astron.nl<mailto:ao-secretariat at astron.nl>. Mention your name, institute, arrival and departure date, share/not share. Rooms will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. You will have to pay to ASTRON for this hotel reservation in full before 31 October (details will be provided). If the room is not paid by then, it will be released. Room rates including breakfast, excluding 7% city tax and city tax of Eur 3 per person per night:
Room for single use: EUR 149 per night
Room for double use: EUR 174 per night

Talks at SALFIX will be recorded, so you can also peruse the presentations afterwards. There will also be a Slack channel dedicated to the meeting to encourage conversations to extend over different time zones. We are aiming to keep the registration costs of the conference as low as possible, but it is expected to be no more than 150 euro (depending on our success in securing external funding). This will be clarified in ~one months time.
