This is a basic guide to observing with VAMPIRES. It is very much a work-in-progress!
Setup procedure - When starting a new observing session (e.g. at the start of a new run), some setup and checks are required. This includes VAMPIRES-specific things, SCExAO and AO188 config, and (if necessary) remote access.
Observing in normal (differential polarisation) mode - Here you will find a basic description of VAMPIRES functions relevant to general VAMPIRES observations, using polarimetry if required, in both full-pupil and NRM modes.
Observing in spectral-differential mode (experimental!) - A spectral-differential imaging mode (e.g. H alpha / continuum) has been implemented. This is new and not hugely tested, and requires a bit more hands-on effort.
Known problems and troubleshooting - There are a handful of common failure modes - see here for fixes.

A guide to understanding and using the VAMPIRES data products, and the relevant tools, can be found here. It includes a simple set of Python tools designed to read VAMPIRES differential-polarisation data products and perform basic calibrations.
